Does web traffic effect rankings?

Actually, rankings do affect traffic, without visibility inside the search engine, you're not going to get traffic

Not only web organic traffic effect your site ranking but also the bounce rate and session number. So increase you quality content will help

This is true, right traffic is the key formula for the successful SEO, or else bounce rate is high then the site will drop to bottom.

The short answer is that no, a website's traffic does not have a direct impact on its rankings within organic search results. If this were the case, new content would never be able to rank, since it would have no traffic. Also, consider that Google does not have access to the traffic statistics on every website.
