Agree with some of the things you said above. But one that I want to strongly disagree with is that Black Hat SEO is a waste of time. A lot of people have achieved good rankings and the ranking are still there with Black Hat SEO.
The fact is that you really have to know what you are doing when taking the Black Hat route.

Black Hat SEO contains such techniques that are banned and blacklisted in SEO rules. Gogle penalizes all such websites that use Black Hat SEO. On the other hand, White Hat SEO contains the positive and legal techniques to optimize websites.

When you gain back link naturally its white hat but when you drop your website back link anywhere is blackhat

Whilst there are penalties for some SEO methods it is your own choice as to how far you employ them with your strategy. When all is said and done SEO is a tool, what you do with it makes it positive or negative.

black hat seo means the seo done without the guidelines which google provides and white hat seo is a technique which follows google guidelines and also focuses on human audience
