I just read about a site, ning.com, that offers a quick, easy, free way for users to create their own customized social networking sites. In five to ten minutes you can create a fully functional site with a forum, photo sharing, video sharing, a blog and all the interactive aspects you'd expect/want.
Behind the scenes you can view site stats, network with other site creators and get into advanced customization options.
And, of course, there are premium options that allow you to control ads, use your own domain or purchase more storage and bandwidth.
It's a fast, free way to check out social networking if interested in trying that approach. I am but have no time, so if anyone gives this a go, I'd love to hear about your experience. It's going in my bookmark folder, though!
