Can you tell me that which points I have to consider while doing competitor site analysis? How I can do effective competitor website analysis?

It depends what metric you are looking at. I do regular analysis on loads of different metrics all the time, Start early and do it often. It's never a bad thing to see what you competitor is doing.

The most common thing is to look for the keywords, your competitors are using and where they are located, density of the keywords on one page. Secondly, you can look for the sources from where your competitors are building their backlinks. For example, from relevant sites or irrelevant sites, from footer, sidebar or backlinks within the content. Nowadays, search engine is giving more importance to links build through contents (ie. contextual links). Same way, there are many such factors you need to focus and do analysis of those factors to rank better than your cometitors for the keywords they are ranking.
