I am absolutely new to this.... I have no idea where to start what to do first... I wish i had the basic knowledge to get my WAH going but dont know what to do first.... Any suggestions?

You are in the right spot if you are new at this and clueless. You also need to remember that this isn't something that you can master in just a few minutes. It will take a while, so you need to be patient.

The first thing you should do is do a lot of reading right here in the Newbie Affiliate Forum so that you can get an understanding of what is involved and also possibly get a few idea.

You will notice several are "Sticky." Those one thread that can be very helpful to you. Do as much reading as possible. There will probably be some things that you won't understand. Ask questions whenever you have any specific questions.

I would definitely recommend reading through the stickies in this forum. Start learning about Pay Per Click marketing, and article marketing and keyword strategies.

It is true - you have much reading to do. Do be aware that the Internet is constantly evolving. All that stuff about keywords, search engine optimization (seo) is still true. And many webmasters skyrocketed their website PageRank with these. But also be aware that Internet marketing has moved on - that now the social media websites have higher PageRank authority than article directories such as EzineArticles.

Not so long ago, the way to gain free, top exposure and high PageRank backlinks was by way of article marketing -ie writing & submitting articles to high ranking sites such as EzineArticles (it's still good) , but now social media websites out-rank EzineArticles. You could use Squidoo - a information exchange social site to market affiliate products for no cost at all, you don't need your own website and it could generate for you a lot of traffic. And you could also link it to your own blog.

Videos posted on YouTube is also a great way of marketing affiliate products. And there are many other social media websites besides these.

There are lots of resources in here and your fellow members are always eager to help out ;) Just don't hesitate to ask questions.

dear jdrome,

let me share some ideas here as I understand the struggle. I dont remember where I found those information but I do remember how i started. So here it is:

First come first, Tell yourself you can do it & you can always find a solution in watever problem you encounter * 5 star forum is a good place to find answer.

1) brain storm in two -a) what you can already know and b) what you are interested.

2) think twice which one could keep you going on for a long while( you must be realistic in this part, if you are more likely a basketball person but you go promote casino....you will quit fairly quickily).

3)go search around & check out anyone doing this. Then, find out the special niche that make you stand out of the crowd-*check our 5 star nieche forum

4)collect all the information you need -->create a web site or blog to promote your product.

5) market your site fiercely.

These are the general idea for you to start. so work on!

all the best!

Regards,
Joeyi

Read all of the posts you can in sites like this. Warriorforum is another good one. Affiliate marketing is really about becoming a good salesperson for other people's products. There are a lot of free ways to promote your affiliate links, so you can start without risk. Article writing, blogs, squidoo lenses, signature links in forums, free websites and hosting, free autoresponders and list building, etc.
