can't add ow.ly or bit.ly links to instagram bio

I think they use landing page not direct linking.

You must be direct linking to CPA/Affiliate offer. Instagram has started to catch on to affiliates links and doesn't allow them to be used directly in bio.
You can either iframe the offer or build a landing page.

I found iframe the landing page isn't long lasting. What you needed to do is just make a landing page or use an suitable article with banner ads placement. But the better choice is collect emails via the landing page.
