hey, james here... i've been running a small blog now for a little over a year, and just recently after reading alot on some of these different forums ive started trying to monetize my blog with adsense and am looking to find different easy ways to send lots of new traffic. So far since i started ive just been dropping alot of links in comments i post on others blogs.. and doing the social bookmarking thing which is where most of my traffic comes from using the automated software from bmdemon.pcti-system. com .. which im sure most of you are probably using also. But I was jus curious, as im still fairly new to this, what are some other easy effective ways i could drive alot of new traffic to my blog? And furthermore, for those other methods for traffic are you aware of any other software like bm demon that will automate those methods for me that isnt going to cost me much?? As I work 40 hours a week and often find myself with very limited time to work on this project... Any advice / comments / suggestions would be very appreciated!! thanks

On-Page Optimization and Off-Page Optimization will help.. These two types should go together:

On-Page Optimization:
1. meta tags
2. title tags
3. alt-tags (use to describe images)
4. keywords (avoid putting too much keyword or else it will result to keyword stuffing)
5. h1/h2 tags
6. description

Off-Page Optimization:
1. article submissions
2. blog commenting
3. social bookmarking (like digg and delicious)
4. forum posting
5. classified ads
6. link exchange (relevant with high PR)
7. press release
8. social media and networking (like facebook and myspace)
9. online groups

i think joining in a blogging community can help you to increase traffic for your blog or joining in some relevant forum can also help :D

when it comes to social bookmarking, i do it 100% manually without the help of any software. It is time consuming. But it is worth spending, as you site will get lots n lots of traffic and links

It also helps to make friends with other blogs too - Rather than linking willy nilly to someone try making friends with them and their more likely to return the favour.

I think that manual submission is the way to go. Also monitor how long it takes you to submit and post. This way you will be able to measure your results. It helps to work on making your process more efficient.
