Bid for position directory - does it have a future

Seriously I don't see any future for Bid for position directories. I recently registered 2 excellent domains for that but, decided it could be a wasted investment.
www.bidwebsitedirectory.com Coming Soon! (keyword perfect) is one of those domains.
Of course it is a good way of earning few bucks quickely.

temi from my point of view it has bright future because day by day it has upgraded (first it comes with letter keyword and now with categories same as web directories). If owner try to make it quality one then it has bright future for sure.

I think I agree more with maldives, its okay for a quick buck but it does not have a long term future compared with the traditional web directories. It really does not offer any real value (from a search engine and customer view point)

But i think we have to give it some time. One more thing is that people have to use new domain and then try to promote it. Not like some people buy expired domain with high pr and put directory on that domain (like word clouds)

I think your domain name is keyword rich, it will rank very well, I think you should go ahead and develop the site and put it online, like you said, one can make a few pounds and you also give yourself free link to boost your other sites from it.

I am not sure about giving PR0 to all word clouds. Do you have any reference?

I'm sure quite a few webmasters who had a PR5 were given a PR0 in the last Google update. Unless I'm thinking of a different type of site

Google is after paid links (not necessarily word clouds). Anything on the way.
Yes, Google is after paid link FOR PR. But they are okay with paid link for traffic.

The webmasters who got PR0 got it because most of the links that gave them their ranking come from paid link, its the benefit of PR from paid link that was withdrawn rather than site given PR0 deliberately.
That is what happened to Haabaa.com, most of the links to Haabaa are paid, including two or three from PR8 websites that I was hopping would take the site to PR7 .
So if you buy links for PR an Google was able to identify the link as paid links, they will block the PR from the paid link from passing on to your site.
I suspect they will punish many advertaisers unfairly in the process. I hardly think they can track pay for PR & Pay for advertising links.
