Are ccTLDs better for local affiliate sites?

.de passing 18 million registrations says a lot about how strong local extensions can still be.

For affiliate sites targeting one country, would you rather use a strong ccTLD or a newer gTLD?

Does local trust help conversions, or is the keyword more important than the extension?

As for local I believe for search results / local extension will give more trust.
I think this is especially true when the site is meant to look like a real local brand. If I’m building an affiliate site for one specific country, I’d usually pick the ccTLD over a random gTLD because users recognize it and it feels more familiar. The domain extension probably won’t magically boost rankings, but trust can affect clicks and conversions. For quick test sites or campaigns I wouldn’t care much, but for something I plan to grow long term I’d rather build on a local extension.

If you need just a disposable domain for a lander or ads / then it's not really all that important.
That's the difference. A quick test lander can use almost anything. But if the site is trying to look like a real local recommendation site, a familiar ccTLD feels much less suspicious to visitors.
