'Tis the season for love, so I thought I'd post about dating affiliate programs.

Online dating sites have a built-in market. There are always people looking for love. But it appears the dating business is growing as the economy gets worse, and some dating affiliate programs are reporting major increases in sales.

Call it fear of being alone in a crisis or call it cost-cutting via having a partner.

Rosalind Gardner recently blogged about the state of the online dating market and offers some tips for dating affiliates.

"I wasn’t at all surprised to hear the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) announcer mention that some dating sites have reported up to 70% increases in paid memberships since the economic turmoil began in earnest a few months ago. Match.com (CJ and Linkshare) announced that November was its strongest in more than seven years and December saw a 22% increase over the same month a year prior."
