Am I on the correct path?

Gotta start somewhere someone told me. So I started a FB page offering free Staples Shopping card. Made a landing page relating to the promotional offer. Also used IG to bring traffic to the website (ends up getting banned). I don't have startup revenue to invest on FB likes, don't even know if this is right way to promote email submit offers. I've heard buying ads for likes for such offers on FB will get your account banned and no money back. Should I forget about this page and look for other methods instead?
