One good traffic option to consider these days in addition to PPC is Facebook. As everyone knows Facebook has gotten huge and with all the data they collect on people, the targeting capabilities make it an option worth trying out.

I don't use Facebook Ads, so I'm going to send you over to Zac Johnson who has a detailed post complete with screen shots showing exactly how to set up your 1st Facebook Ads campaign.

"With Facebook now at over 250 million members, it?s never been a better time to take a stab at Facebook Advertising...

For some reason, whenever you start talking to someone about Facebook Ads, you either get the response, ?I just kept losing money, so I went away?, or ?Facebook Ads is awesome! I love it!?. The truth is, Facebook Ads can make you money, just as easily as it can make you lose your shirt. It?s all about testing, setting your ads up correctly and managing your daily balance.

Does Facebook actually work for marketing? Given the nature of Facebook, I'm having a hard time believing you're going to get sufficient exposure to people who will actually convert to customers. Or is this simply talking about advertising on Facebook rather than using Facebook as a marketing venue?

Why don't you use Facebook for marketing, Linda?

No this is just talking about paid ads on Facebook.

I tried Facebook ads a long time ago for 5 Star and it didn't work, lots of impressions but very few clicks. That was back before the targeting was as detailed as it is now. But still, 5 Star isn't really a good thing to pay to advertise there. Affiliates are advertising things that lots of consumers would be interested in like teeth whitening, weight-loss and free grants - stuff like that.

I do a little regular Facebook marketing, try to keep up with contacts there and my blog is posted there.

Actually, I think the most profitable area of facebook is to google "facebook affiliate marketing" and go the affiliate marketing group. Then promote a product that shows how to cloak affiliate links because everyone is leaving their IDs out there.
