Hi all,
I'm a sports fan through and through but don't play many anymore. I really wanted to do a site on jerseys but am running into a few problems:
1- there are not a huge amount of searches
2- the competition seems fearce unless you go down to the player level
3- it is very hard to...
Well I didn't get a reply the first time, but I figured i'd give an update of what i'm experiencing and hope that someone has some ideas.
My post "Team Canada Hats" is indexed, but is not very high in google. However, my Team Canada Apparel page (when searching for Team Canada Hats) is...
Hi all,
Not much of a surprise that I have another SEO question regarding my Wordpress based site.
I created a Post about a week ago named "Team Canada Hats". I knew that the post site (sitename/team-canada-hats) would not be indexed right away, but after about a week I noticed my main...
I think your name should definately be included. I've learned much more than I intended to learn about SEO from you.
But yeah like David said, there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum. It's intimidating at first, but eventually things come together!
Thanks! Ya that is what I was worried about. I think a URL with word1-word2-and-word3 would look spammy, but a URL of word1-word2-word3 would not sound right at all.
Couple more stupid questions if you don't mind:
1 - Does word order matter? For instance word2word1?
2 - What about the word "for"? word1forword2
3 - Let's say there are two good 2 word niches: word1 word2 and word1 word3. Would a domain word1-word2-word3 satisfy both?
I'm just having...
Ya i'd like to use a .com as well. Right now I have a two word niche but the following are not available:
word1word2.com
word1-word2.com
I am thinking of going with word1-word2-online.com. I'm assuming that will be ok? I know about having other factors as well, but just curious if this...
Hi all,
I was looking back at the dashes section and thought of another question in regards to selecting a URL. In most case when you find a niche you'd like to work on, the URL based on those keywords is already taken. In my case (for the site in my signature), I decided to append the word...
Wouldn't that be nice! I've been doing pretty well since my first post. I have about $70 locekd up into sales and can almost request a cheque lol. The nice thing is that I now know that this stuff works, and can build from what i've learned and hopefully tackle a more compeititve niche.
Hi all,
I've been looking over my account in Google Analytics to find out how people have been finding my site. A keyword that I did not intend to be used (team canada merchandise) places my "Team Canada Apparel" site in the 10th position.
What I don't understand is why is the term...
This is a cool study. I've never really looked into Adsense before, but this is interesting! Would you be able to sell the domain names that are not working very well?
Wish I saw this earlier. Some interesting points! If you use dashes, would keyword order matter?
For instance, let's say golf gear was a better SEO term than gear for golf. Since the words "gear" and "golf" are in both, would it matter?
i.e. golf-gear.com or gear-for-golf.com
As Linda mentioned this is a really tough niche. With quotes, you are competing against almost 3 million results. Most of the time, I believe they recommend you try a niche with under 30,000 results.
I'd recommend you try out Market Samurai. It has helped me really well and makes it really...
Thanks Linda, I was leaning that way as well, but wanted to ask the veterans :). I'm not doing a golf site as I know very little about it, but i'm looking at another sport.
Appreciate the help!
Hope you guys don't get to mad for me bringing this up again :).
This is unrelated to my current site, but I think i've found quite a few keywords related to another niche that would be really good. The problem is that if I select a URL based on those good keywords, I don't think i'd attract...
Sorry to bump this up again, just thought of something else (I swear hamsters are running wheels through my brain half the time lol).
Would it be worthwhile to change some of my category names to better terms? For instance: "juniors" to "canada_juniors"? The term "canada juniors" produces...
Ummm nope, you are not the only one. I am still learning, but rememeber thinking this information was way too hard to digest. This place will be able to help you in your ventures. I came here about 3 months ago and learned most of what I use from this forum.
good luck!
Good stuff! I never would have thought it would have to do with your name. I recently got my article published on ezine and noticed that they removed a couple of links, but allowed me to keep one.
