I think it's still worth it. Not many business models let you get started part time with little cost that can be expanded to full time in the comforts of your living room. What's required is the attitude to adapt with change and enthusiasm for the niche(s) that you love.
First of all, great job in getting traffic from social networks. Learning that source of traffic has become key for online marketing. Second, when it comes to Google, Bing, and other search engines, you should look into various link building techniques such as fundamental anchor texts, article...
Easiest way to start is to learn how to blog on your passion, be it cycling, smoking, or movies. But it's gotta be something you love to work on EVERYDAY, whether you are writing, commenting, or social networking.
Set up your blog with some sort of analytic so that you can determine where...
I feel that Internet tax or Amazon tax, as it's called nowadays, is bound to happen from a practical point of view and fairness point of view. Practical because all government bodies (states, federal, municipals, cities, etc) are in need of cash. Fair in a sense that traditional retailers have...
Some CMS like Wordpress, Joomla, and Drupal allow you to combine websites with blogs. The goal is to continuously keep the site content fresh through the use of blog posts. From what I've read, with all things being equal, Google and other major search engines favor fresh content over stagnant...
My Hubpage traffic is down 50%. Same goes for the majority of my websites. But a handful of my wordpress sites are up and doing well. Having said that, I don't know what to tell people other than diversify because you never know which sites will hold up and which ones will go down upon SE...

Seems to work fine.
I'm on the Hubpages camp too. Never had much success with Squidoo. I also use Blogger and Webs.com from time to time. Maybe I should be checking out Tumblr.
I know you can buy services that bookmarks websites / articles / pages for a few. That's one way to scale.
But I also think (and I haven't tried this yet) that an alliance or partnership among many Internet marketers with social bookmarking accounts could come in handy. In this partnership...
I had an ordeal with websites slowing down before Christmas break. My traffic was increasing, which was great news. But it was slowing down everyone else's sites, including mine, on the shared server.
One weekend, my hosting provider kicked me out of the shared server after receiving enough...
Good point. I like "dance like no one's watching and sing like no one is listening" or something to that effect. The message I take from it is to not let others bring me down from whatever it is I'm trying to accomplish.
