Article submission is a slow earning process if you're looking to make some cash. Sadly, most freelance work I've found offers around 50 cents for a 500 word article or so. When will writers get a bit more love? :(
There are many ways to earn online, though I of course don't believe in the get rich in a day scams that are out there. You can earn online, it just takes work and dedication.
I've been tempted to try out Craigslist but I wasn't sure it would be worth the hassle of potentially getting posts marked as spam because people have nothing better to do. I guess it's worth a shot.
Most of the time, they don't pay because a user broke a rule somewhere down the line. This may not always be the case, but I've never had an issue with them, or getting paid.
I'd highly suggest Bubblews. You get paid for every like, dislike, view and comment and you can write about whatever you'd like. You can connect with other users and build a good following to help support even further :)

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
