Get up a sufficient amount of quality content, and then pump up the backlinks as much as possible. Things like business directories are good for getting backlinks, but generate little (if any) actual traffic. I've found that having an actual offer that surfers find attractive, and then...- DanW

Yeah, building a strategy based primarily on articles turned out to be somewhat disastrous after the new Panda update. A diverse "portfolio" of links is still the way to go...time-consuming though it may be.- DanW
