XBOX 360 - Flashing red light

Hi

Anyone come across an issue with an XBOX 360 where the power light continuosly flashes red.

Many people have experienced this issue but is it true that Microsoft are fixing such known issue for free?

yeah i had 2 xbox 360s with this problem because the 360s are faulty,get a ps3

Funny enough the same thing happened to my friend just recently, im happy I bought a PS3 now

It is a very common fault on the 360. Normally know as "the ring of death".

Basically the console gets too hot and dissolves the solder on the video board.

I have had 16 different 360's (1 core, 12 premiums and 3 elites) in under 18 months, all with the same fault. The reason for so many is, simply i refused to send it off for repair (takes on average 2-3 weeks when you send it off for repair) and made them exchange it for a new one every time.

Great console when it works, but getting it to stay working is another thing.

In the end i just got the hump and got a full refund.

Microsoft will repair such issue free of charge. They will also pay for the postage to get the xbox back to them.
