What Makes You Join An Affiliate?

I am curious to know what makes a successful program in your opinion.

Here are my important factors:

1. Good niche - I dont want something thats overblown or not easily targeted.

2. Decent Commission and Earning Rate - some programs offer a very low commission rate and this does not appeal to me. I prefer 20% and higher (depending on the product of course). What is a good rate for you?

3. For the most part, I also prefer the Pay Per Sale over the flat one time payout. More earning power (long term) and less instances of disputes. I of course will only deal with sites that offer lifetime earning on a customer and long cookies.

4. Excellent Marketing Tools - I often prepare my own materials, however, haveing a wide range of options, and of course CUSTOMIZED development of ads is NICE

5. Service - I need an account rep that answers me QUICKLY and doesnt take 3 or 4 days.

6. Decent Conversions - this is a given.

They pay on time, have products I want to promote, few people are promoting the product, high search volume, good tracking statistics, nice graphics/logos.

All of that you mentioned, but you usually can't find it all under one 'roof'
- Also multiple payout options (paypal, wire, cheque).

I tend to look at the product and evaluate if it offers my readers a good value AND is worth my time promoting.
