What does the CPA and PPC means and how to use?

Hi,
I always see the CPA and PPC in the affiliate marketing but what exactlly means they are and how to use.Is it a advertising way?
By the way,how to start a affiliate program? I know many of you are good at it.

CPA is cost per action, for example when you are displaying a campaign on your site and someone clicks on your campaign and the intended action (sale, subscription etc) is made because that person clicked on your campaign, therefore you will get a commission out of that click because the action was made.

PPC or CPC is price/cost per click, so this is the cost of each click on a campaign.
