Last Fall, Googe started to restrict which Addiction Treatment-related search queries would be eligible to show ads, citing safety.

Now, they've completely banned affiliates from promoting it.

Yeah, that really sucks. I was in the process of setting up a campaign for this a couple weeks ago just to find out you can't target that niche in the USA.

Set up a content site instead that is all about the affliction and place advertisers banners on the site.

Locations that can qualify for Google *accepted* certification can continue to advertise using AdWords.

I am guessing there were too many unqualified opportunists in this field advertising?

Yep. No affiliates are going to be getting certified from LegitScript. RIP.
