this is a type of link exchange but according to me mostly peoples not use this technique.

Exchange link with other webmaster is known as reciprocal link.

Reciprocal links are links between two sites that have been created and linked to each other for a number of possible reasons. For eg - When website A links to website B and website B also links to website A then these are reciprocal links.
