Yahoo seem to respond better than Google to loads of poor quality banklinks

I agree that it's just the same technique on what you're doing in google and other search engines such as having quality and unique content, proper targeting of keywords and building relevant backlinks. But as far as I know, yahoo gives more weigh on on-page optimization to rank well in yahoo serp.

From what I can work out Yahoo places less emphasis on backlinks than Google and more on domain name, title and description key phrases.

I would have put 'keywords in url' at the top of that list for Google, but lower down for yahoo.

I think yahoo gives whole marks to on page optimization than off page.
For higher ranking in yahoo :
1. use your keywords in content as well as your meta title and description
2. good quality content
3. some back links
4. do as much as on page seo
5. use h1 tags
6. use interlinking with your webpages

Ranking is yahoo is not that much tough. Needs good onpage optimization and some quality backlinks.

I got ranked in the first page for 4 keywords out of 10 and all of them are very competitive.Tough it took some time but still getting good traffic.
