New 2008 Nissan Rogue

I have a pretty nice 2 year old car but want to get an SUV.
I've been looking since the 1st of the year and just cant find one I like.

The closest thing so far is the brand new <strong>Nissan Rogue</strong> which is coming out in the fall. It's cute, sexy, and small, yet sounds like a fairly high performance UTE.

Have you seen it yet?

Yesterday took a peek at the new 2008 Saturn Vue.
It's kinda cool. Much better looking than the 2007 Vue.

Another new one that just came out I kinda like is the Hyundai Veracruz.

Its way too big for me though since I barely drive. Plus I just could not imagine myself answering the question "What do you drive?" with the word Hyundai. I know they've done alot to enhance their image and they make some really nice SUVs. I like the SanteFe and even the Tucson. I just hate the brand name. What a snob!

Anyway I figured if I let you all know, some of you guys that are car hounds might keep your eyes open for me if you hear of any other new SUV or CUV models coming out or read any good reviews of the ones above.

Do you like the Nissan Rogue? I have to see it in person before I will know for sure if it's "the one!" Color is especially important to me. Then 2nd most important is a cool dash, not one that just looks like a truck and 3rd on my list is gas mileage.

They finally got the Rogue in at my local dealership. Saw the gray one last night. They had 50 pre-sold orders on hold before they had any to sell and they just got a couple in. They have one in the color I like -
Iridium Graphite. So they are bringing it in from another dealership for me to test drive tonight.

Here it is:

Sort of a cocoa, platinum, plumish color.

I'm pretty pre-sold on this SUV and can be pretty impulsive.
When I decide what I want - I want it NOW!
So who knows I could drive one home tonight
if they give me what I want for my trade-in.

Ya it's the perfect size for me. Barely drive any more since I'm always
online. Have had my current car for 3 years and have under 8,000 miles on it.
I like the Lexus but really just need a little SUV. I kinda like the Santa Fe, but hate the Hyundai brand name. The "Rogue" works for me.

Turns out the one they had wasn't the one I wanted.
Didn't have premium option package (with the paddle shifters) and the intelligent key option.
It SENSES when you walk up to car and automatically unlocks as long as you have the key in your pocket or purse. Then you can just turn the ignition switch without even having to pull out the key. When you walk away, it locks. This thing even has sensors that tell you when you need air in one of the tires - even the spare! The CD and MP3 controls are built right into the steering wheel. Just all kinds of cool options.

So I'm on a waiting list. Rogues are really hard to get because they are so new. Barely trickling into dealerships and sold the second they hit the lot.
So could be awhile til I can get one.

Ok I'm ready to throw a big fat old 2 year old tantrum!

I want my Rogue and I want it NOW!!!

I have not kept up to date on this thread, have been mainly posting over at a Rogue forum. But I've been through the ringer trying to get me Rogue. My local dealer has lied to be at least 4 times trying to get me to buy one they have in stock instead of getting the one I want and they won't do dealer trades to get me the one I want.

So I've been searching dealer by dealer to find my Iridium Graphite, AWD Premium SL and every time I think I've found one an hour or 2 away it turns out the ones that say they have black interior end up being a mistake and it's really the gray/beige/tan ick color seats or the black/red.

Have had 3 dealers check and there are no Iridium blacks in CA and only one in Vegas but it has leather and I don't like leather. So guess I need to special order and won't get it until Dec because they need to have it custom built in Japan and then shipped over.

Waaaaa. I want it now! I'm such a compulsive baby
once I decide what I want.

WooHoo!!! Found my Rogue finally and am going to get it tomorrow
unless when I get there the dealer pulls something funny with my trade-in.

A dealer about 90 minutes away just got it in today and I found it before
the dealer even knew they had it and even before they got it off the truck.
I had the Internet sales manager chasing the truck around the dealership trying to stop it so he could personally look to be sure the seats were black not gray or black/red. This one really does have a black interior plus AWD, Intelligent Key, Bluetooth and everything I wanted. I'm getting 1,000 off MSRP too which is great because since it's new and in short supply most dealers won't discount and some are even marking it up a couple grand over MSRP.

In some light it's more of a smoky platinum and you can barely see the purplish color.
In this pic it looks a lot more purple than the one I test drove.
