Need to brush up design skills

Hi Everyone,

Over the years I have worked on different aspects of web design but neglected my graphic design skills...

Any recommended resource where I could learn?

Something classic like colors, lines, shapes ect...

I don't know where to start!

Before I can learn to create eye candy and web 2.0 graphics I would like to learn the basics.

Any help appreciated.

depending on what program you use pixel2life is a great tutorial site, but if your looking for a general guidance I would go for a book at your local bookstore.

I think you should start from basic tutorial. Google is providing very fruitful lessons about that.

You can also find some great in-dept articles on web design if you Google 'webdesign tutsplus'

There are a ton of free tutorials out there if you google search. A tip someone shared with me when I was working on my design skills was to create movie posters for practice. They don't even have to be real movies, just things you find interesting. It's good practice and will keep your attention.
