How often do you promote?

How often do you promote your site, and on how many sites do you promote it at?

I've never done that many sites in one day! Usually I promote every couple of days on about 10 sites

I used to promote at as many sites i could and would usually bump it every 24 hours.

You have to be careful because a lot of forums have a 48 hour bump rule.

I am somewhat new to the whole concept and I was wondering if someone could clue me into the whole process of promotion. Who do you contact and how do you go about promoting your site? What are the costs and benefits of promoting your site?

I imagine that you need to work to get people to your site, I am just not really that familiar with how people do so. Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

If someone spends 6 hours on their site daily then half of those should be spent promoting the site. Promotion is as important as creating content and managing the forum because it's through promotion that you get more forum members. If you spend too little time promoting the forum then odds are the forum/site won't get much traffic and you wouldn't because of that make any decent revenue from that site.

If it's possible one should aim to promote their forum on a new site every day, in addition to all other social media sites.
