First I apologize for asking this question that I supposed it's asked daily. I have read a few posts and will read more later but just wanted to introduce for now and ask a few q :)

I'm am quite new to affiliate thing and I'm having problems finding the right sites...it's harder than I thought. I have a ptc site and can place any ad so what kind of programs would you recommend? Hosting and casino sites dont seem to work because they pay for sale. I need something that pays for traffic or free signup. And another question. I dont know how the pay by check is made...I'm using only payment processors. Do I have to give them my details and they mail the check anywhere in the world? Thanks!

I know 99% of these sites are scam but there are some honest ones too, some are online since 3 years or more. But I understand you thinking like that. Thanks anyway :)

Any site that says I'll pay you to click on ads is dishonest IMHO. Those advertisers are only interested in paying for REAL leads who are actually interested in their products. They lose money on fraud leads through PTC.

If you were an advertiser paying out real money to try to get real leads for real new customers, would you want someone to promote you on a get paid to click and fill out offers site? You'd be paying for leads that were fraudulent.

Obviously a pet peeve of mine. :(

Just a suggestion, but get away from the pay to click site. It will make a little money for a little while, but it is predatory and will end up getting you in trouble with merchants in the long run. You will end up having to do the same work building your PTC membership as you would building co-existance friendly affiliate empires. The difference is the people who work with you on the affiliate side, and see you drive traffic will keep coming back. The best money I personally have made online came from the relationships I made with companies as their one and only PPC affiliate. That comes after a lot of grinding.

A simple suggestion to get started,

Go to wordpress and start a blog. Pick something silly and/or enjoyable. I like marine fish, so lets assume we can start with that.

I know that everyone who has saltwater fish is constantly looking at filtration, lighting, and water quality.

Lets start with lighting. Go do research on sites like wet web media, and other online resources for an hour a day. Once you start to get the difference between the types of lights (there are a lot), go find sellers of each.

Then post affiliate ads for those sellers (you may have to do some digging to find these sites that will offer affiliate sales), and try to drive 1 sale spending less than 3x the amount you will earn from that sale.

Congrats you made some money online, and now you just need to improve conversions which is mostly just testing and trying.

You may actually want to start several blogs,
1 reviewing the lighting systems and discussing the differences,
1 comparing prices for the different lighting systems from different sellers,
and 1 that is purely informative without any over bearing ads for the user to see.

Also don't forget to check to make sure ABP (AdBlock Plus) isn't blocking your ads.

Thanks for the tip, I thought about starting a blog some time ago but didnt know about what. All good ideas seem to be taken. But I'll think about it.

Linda you are right there, most people join and click one month for a few $ so they wouldnt spend more money on the internet. Thats why I said Im looking for sites that want traffic especially. For ex I've found one that pays $0.22 for 1000 hits so I placed some banners on my site and wait to see what happends.

vereecjw your post kindda opened my eyes...there are so many things I could write about in a blog. And one of them would be my country :D

ps: Is there any chance you could get scammed by affiliate programs? I mean not paying when you reach the payout.

There is always a chance of getting scammed, so go in slow.

For example, if you have $5000 to spend building this project, don't go spending it all on the first day on PPC.

Take $5 a day as what you will spend on this project. (The actual number can be pretty much anything).

Try out a merchant. Drive a sale or two. Use a network like CJ/Pepperjam/Linkshare/Shareasale/Zanox.de . They will cut into the potential profit of a direct deal, but they are determined to keep the payouts honest.

Once you have received your first payment, you can increase your spending a little bit. But don't rush. The key is almost always to take your time, cover your bases and grow slowly.

You will eventually grow large enough to get the attention of affiliate managers. You will build relationships with several of these as the years go on. You will know them well, and you know that when they are involved in a program, they will make sure you get paid. Their livelihood is based on their ability to bring in affiliates and manage the programs, so if they burn affiliates, they go homeless.

You will also build a reputation with the merchants (especially if they are smaller), and they tend to be serial merchants. So when they start their next project, you will get an upgrade in terms compared to most other affiliates etc.

Christine, vereecjw makes some good points.

There are so many legitimate ways to make money with affiliate programs instead of doing PTC.

Check out the stickies in our niche forum about how to research and pick a good niche.
