I want to know your views about registry cleaners. Is this software affective for computer performance or all these garbage to make the headache for smooth uses of computer?

They do more harm than good. Very likely to remove keys and stop applications or services running properly.

There is no need to clean the registry anyway unless it is enormous and you have a tiny hard disk and need more space.

The effect of a very large registry on performance in negligible.

My recommendation - avoid them like the plague.

That's what a lot of my customers think. But most of the time they are happy to continue to use their old hardware once I have paired down the memory usage, startup applications and non-essential windows services. A defrag often helps too.

It's amazing how much performance you can gain from some simple tweaks.
