Detecting bot traffic

Do you know any good method to detect fake/bot traffic?

I mean both type: spying tools, and fake visitors.
Here is the scenario:
I want to check if specific target on particular traffic source is sending real visitors, or just pumping some fake/bot traffic.

Do you use Google Analytics, or other scripts or are there services that can do this?

Forensic it works better than Google Analytic
