My name is Daniel. I first found out about affiliate marketing in 2008. Back then I was building a list of gamers and discovered that if I sold him something through email. Likely purchase it.
Shortly thereafter I graduated from University and went traveling. Upon my return I started a mailing company and ran that for two years. Mailing does use affiliate offers as a monetization strategy, but it's very different compared to PPV, Display, Mobile, CPI, etc..
The downside with mailing is that you're constantly reinventing the process in order to bypass filters. With affiliate marketing there isn't very much socializing either, but you all know that, otherwise you wouldn't be here.
I guess that's my story as it relates to affiliate marketing.
