Can we use Adsense and Adbrite at the same time

You should always double check something this important with the Adsense TOS and not take the advice of people in forums - not even me. :p

Full disclaimer: I don't use Adsense and don't pretend to know the current TOS in detail, but the last I knew the restrictions were against 'contextual ads' or ad banks that looked like and could be confused with Adsense.

So look for something about that in the TOS then you need to find out what ad formats Adbrite offers and see if there is a conflict.

Linda, those restrictions were lifted quite some time ago. Currently, AdSense requires only that you ensure that any non-AdSense ads are clearly identified as such. Since AdBrite ads clearly label themselves as originating from AdBrite. there isn't a problem with running the two on the same pages.

That said, I think you'll find that the payout from AdBrite doesn't come close to that of AdSense for most sites.

I found the relevant part of their ToS:

Competitive Ads and Services

In order to prevent user confusion, publishers may not display Google ads or search boxes on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colours as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure that these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.

Can I place Google ads on the same page with other ads?
You're welcome to display Google ads on the same site or page as other third party advertisements provided that the formatting or colors of the third party ads is different enough from that of the Google ads. In other words, if you choose to place non-Google ads on the same site or page as Google ads, it should always be clear to the user that the ads are served by different advertising networks and that the non-Google ads have no association with Google. If the formats are naturally similar, we ask that you choose different color schemes for the competing ads.

Our intent with this policy is to be as fair to our advertisers as possible and to maintain the integrity of the AdWords and AdSense programs. You can learn more about this, and all our policies, on our program policies page. Please also be aware that competitor ads are considered to be part of your site's content and must follow our policy guidelines.

On another note guys - it's good to know just in case Google bans you from adsense (in which I'm not planning to let happen) - there are other ways that are similar to adsense to make money - just not as much.

I run both of them and I never had problems with AdSense nor with AdBrite.

Yes, there are many other similar websites and some of they pay for your niche better than Adsense. For one of my websites I use a smaller CPM website, for the others AdSense pays better.
