calling vs email

Is it better to call a pottential affiliate versus just emailing. I supposed that both is best of course. Looking to hear about the effectiveness of calling. It is difficult to start a conversation with people when emails are used. They just don't respond. What is the best way to start the conversation.
 
well i read all my emails..

I think it just depends on what you have to offer.. you can trick a person to open the email by a catchy title, but to get someone really interested it should be something he would be interested in :)
 
Has anyone found calling more successful than emailing? Does anyone here prefer to call their affiliates and what success have they found? Do you think it might become a privacy issue?
