1. Running Improves Your Health
Believe it or not, running is actually a great way to increase your overall level of health. In addition, running can also boost your immune system and lower your risk of developing blood clots.

2. It Prevents Disease
For women, running can actually help to lower your risk of breast cancer. It can also help reduce the risk of having a stroke. Many doctors today recommend running for people who are in the early stages of diabetes, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis, and it is proven to help reduce the risk of having a heart attack. By helping the arteries retain their elasticity and strengthening the heart, your chances of suffering a heart attack can be significantly reduced.

Running is one of the best forms of exercise for losing or maintaining a consistent weight. You will find that it is a leading way to burn off extra calories and that it is the second most effective exercise in terms of calories burned per minute, following only after cross country skiing.
4. Running Boosts Your Confidence
Not all of the benefits of running are physical. Running can provide an noticeable boost to your confidence and self-esteem. By setting and achieving goals, you can help give yourself a greater sense of empowerment that will leave you feeling much happier.

Great stuff. Plus if you run often and long enough (comes with time) you get to experience runners high! The mental shift that comes with it makes all the sweat worth it.

I need to run, or just move in any way. Getting somewhat lazy behind the screen... I do walk a lot though which is also a good set of motion, but need to get my ass into a gym :).

Good contribution. I run every day for 1 to 2 hours, or even more depending on my time available.

I call it 'mental cleanup' and it's immensely!

I can deff not run alone, my mind will wonder and then i stop running and start thinking which of course also sounds good but it's not always business or really motivating things that pop up lol

Running is the best way to lose extra weight for me personally
The same for me. I struggled to lose weight, and tried various diets, but didn't see much result. When I was diagnosed with diabetes, it was very important to lose at least several pounds (for the start). I should say, exactly running helped me a lot. Moreover, I understood that I really enjoy the process. I usually run at least three times a week. Also, I'm glad that I read about and talk to my doctor about it as it helped me during my weight loss journey.
