Day #4: December 4, 2021
  • Project Objective --> Earn $3,000/month ($100/day) affiliate commission
1. Technical Report --> New Content, SEO, UI and UX website improvements
What is the business goal of these technical reports? The business needs to continuously update the affiliate websites in order to keep the Googlebot crawling the website and re-indexing the content higher in organic search rankings, and the customer needs to find newly updated content every day (I keep tweaking these clarity statements, YOU are welcome to comment !!)
  • Set Wordpress plugin versions to update automatically x 10 websites
  • Created 1 new product page x 10 websites
2. Admin Report --> Paperwork, Accounts, Finance
What is the business goal of these admin reports? The business needs to be well organized and focused on clear objectives in order to get planned actions completed as scheduled and deal with the day-to-day operations as smoothly as possible (I keep tweaking these clarity statements, YOU are welcome to comment !!)
  • Added Product Research (Amazon Bestsellers) x 10 websites to Google Calendar plan for next week --> December 6-12, 2021
  • Bookmarked the Percentage Calculator website (very simple & useful tool)
  • Updated Google Drive search & commission spreadsheet x 10 websites for December 4, 2021
3. Learning Report
What is the business goal of these learning reports? --> To keep up-to-date with the latest changes to the technology (software) used by the business so that the business takes advantage of all opportunities and the customer receives the best experience when they visit my affiliate websites, also I need to schedule actions for new things I learn in these videos or it's just entertainment (I keep tweaking these clarity statements, YOU are welcome to comment !!)

Why you limited yourself only to Amazon? Especially they pay to net 60 day if I understood right.

Why you dont try an affiliate network?

MyLead has fascinating offers - a lot of fashion brands (know you are a God there) you can choose, home decorations, jewelry, etc. And no need to wait your money so long time - the cash flow problem will be resolved. You always can a split test and see which network performs the best for you.

Good question
I'm not just using Amazon Associates --> 4 other affiliate networks also
also Amazon Associates is not my most lucrative affiliate network
yesterday I earned round bout $50 commission across 5 networks
only $9 was commission from Amazon
But this thread is about Amazon Associates

  • Project Objective --> Earn $3,000/month ($100/day) affiliate commission
1. Technical Report
  • Optimized new product pages --> 1 x main image; 5 x additional images; attributes (brand name, distributor, color & quantity)
A word on optimizing images
Upto 25% of all my traffic comes from Google Images
Customers click the image
and go to my product pages
a percentage of these make purchases
round bout 1 purchase = $1 commission (later I need to make a case study)
5 purchases = $5 commission
25 purchases = $25 commission
Ya get the picture !!!
How am I doing this?
It's simple but it takes alot of time
  1. Using the keywords customers are searching for
  2. Using the exact transactional search phrases which have search volume
  3. Checking the local search volume using Ubersuggest (thanks again @T J Tutor)
  4. Separating words with hyphens (i-am-using-the-keywords-customers-are-searching-for.jpeg)
  5. Using all lower case characters
  6. Cropping images to 1000 x 1000 or less (if only smaller image is available)
  7. Using high quality images which stand out in search
  8. Filling in all of the title, description & alt tag fields in Wordpress
  9. Making sure a caption with the transactional search phrase appears on the page
  10. Using the transactional search phrase in the H1 title
  11. Using the transactional search phrase in the meta description
  12. Using the transactional search phrase in the opening product description paragraph
  13. Using the correct file format which JPEG
  14. Using images nobody else is using (from video stills) and yes I check Google Image results first
  15. Front load the transactional search phrase everywhere (so it displays on mobile)
  16. Images & web pages load fast
  17. Images closely represent the transactional search phrase
  18. Don't include any additional text or graphics in images
  19. Make sure all images are referenced using HTTPS
  20. Keep image file size to around 100 kilobytes
  21. Making sure images are responsive (resize in different browser windows)
  22. I need to add Open Graph Image Meta Tags
  23. also need to look into Social Media image settings
  24. plus Image Site Maps

I suggest you read the Google Images SEO Best Practises
and watch this 10-minute video from Google

There are so few people doing all of this
otherwise I wouldn't get so much traffic & $ commission $
from Google Images

  • Found multiple errors on ALL web pages --> using Google Search Console
  • Didn't make any customer facing changes :( --> very, very important
2. Admin Report
  • Updated Google Drive search & commission spreadsheet x 10 websites for December 6, 2021
  • Unsubscribed from non-essential YouTube accounts
  • Want to set up daily commission emails from Amazon (how?)
  • Changed Ubersuggest keyword rankings to transactional Google searches only
  • Added to daily Amazon Bestsellers check --> "Hot New Releases" and "Movers and Shakers"
  • Created daily Google Analytics Reports
  • Listed main 3 competitors in spreadsheet x 10 websites (30 competitors)
  • Started using free monday.com account again

Week #1: December 1-7, 2021

This is data for my hero site
the fashion clothing one
started summer 2020
trying to find a way of posting weekly traffic reports
for all 10 affiliate websites
without doing it manually
(any ideas --> @Graybeard perhaps?)
if I have to do it manually
the reports will be monthly

These stats show a preliminary calculation
  • 76,300 Google search impressions =
  • 2,570 Google search clicks
This broadly correlates with Google Analytics traffic sources
  1. Google / organic --> 2,711 (86.28%)
  2. Direct / (none) --> 162 (5.16%)
  3. Bing / organic --> 160 (5.09%)
  4. Yahoo / organic --> 57 (1.81%)
  5. DuckDuckGo / organic --> 23 (0.73%)

The next job is to find a traffic-to-commission link
I can then use the calculation for the other 9 sites
to make preliminary math equations

see that export function?
export each domain for the day/week into a named folder save with that domain_name_date.csv
then cd to that folder (directory);

Getting Into "The Zone"
A word about getting into The Zone
Guys, it's an uphill battle to get focused
I've found it incredibly difficult to get into The Zone
and even more difficult to stay in The Zone
in fact I'm not even in The Zone yet
you just have to keep fighting the distractions
keep looking for ways to focus
always look to improve your systems
and stay in The Game that is affiliate marketing
because death is guaranteed for all of us
but accepting defeat or focusing on winning
are both voluntary behaviors in life
I choose to focus on winning
small wins, big wins, any wins
this week I worked 50 hours at my regular job
then came home each day and made progress on this project
not more than 1-2 hours daily
sometimes only 30 minutes
but some progress every day
--> earned $42 from Amazon Associates
--> plus another $50 from network 1
--> and $25 from network 2
that's $117 I didn't have last week
and it feels like I'm getting closer to The Zone

it's how I learn to do all this
without the videos I'd be lost
they teach me 50% of my skills
the other 50% I learn through trial and error
making mistakes, after mistakes, after mistakes

Nothing. Just that sometimes they don't line up with your update but i understand that's how you learn.

I do trial and error. Apply and sense check results. Adjust and keep experimenting with the winning combo.

I watch some videos from time to time but don't subscribe to the channels.
The Surfside PPC guy is my fav when i want to dig into wordpress + woocommerce + amz.
He got the process pretty much oiled.

I have not put it in practice yet because I am tied up with my content ads site project right now.
Trying to focus one 1 thing for now to see where that takes me. Slow and steady motion.
