I've never really gone over 15,000 or so per profile but have never run into any issues. Some of them I've even mass unfollowed people and then started following again to build it up even more and again I've never run into issues. To be honest both of these are way too small a samples to call scrubs. Offers will always fluctuate big time... sometimes you might send hundreds of clicks to an offer and not get a single converstion whilst a few hundred more on another day will convert like crazy.
