Is there any free alternatives to Alexa, Quantcast & Compete to find audience demographics? I am not getting any demographics with quantcast & compete. Also, alexa now charges to show all demographics such as age and income, etc.

I hear people saying to create a landing page that pre-sells the prospect into the offer. (I'm wondering if in this landing page we are also capturing emails. I also know that some don't capture emails in this step).

True. It could be that the demographics also don't match our marketing message, hence get low conversions. Time to advertise at a new site and test the traffic there.
