Worst Domain Registrar?

I'm thinking of buying a domain name for no more than $1 and there's this one site where you can either buy or register a domain name for only $1. It sounds like a good deal but after reading some reviews on a number of sites I got the impression that 1 and 1 is one of the worst domain registrars.

Is this true? Should I spend a little more money and buy or register a domain name elsewhere?

Ya some sites are offering $1 domain for the first year but when you want to renew your domain then it will cost you $15-$20 per year. So careful to before buying such kind of domain buying service.
