SMO : Businesses who want to connect, Share , create brand awareness, customer support & International present opt Social Media Optimization.

PPC : Businesses which wants more leads in less time frame opt PPC. which makes them reach interested audience, at very less time.

I have to agree with @VirtualGlobalPhone and @scroogefrog - both are effective venues for driving traffic.

PPC is faster than SMO, too.
