Indexing is when Google adds your URL to their index and will allow it to appear in search results.

Crawling means that Google has crawled your URL with Googlebot. A crawled URL might not be indexed, but an indexed URL will definitely have been crawled.

You can generally see all the indexed URLs on a website by searching site:domain(dot)com in the search bar. This used to be very accurate but recently it seems Google will shows urls in a site: search that are not appearing in search results.

Crawling is how a search engine retrieves data with a robot (crawler).
Indexing is what search engines do with that data -- algorithmically determine its value, then its rank in the SERPs (search results).
