What is Domain age ?

Yes, and some people think this can have a bearing on search performance, the thinking being that the greater the longevity of the domain, then the more reputable the site. Not necessarily logical, but could be true in some cases.

Domain age

Domain age is the approximate age of a website on the Internet and allows you to view how the website looked when it first started.

it is viewable by using whois tool. unless the site/domain info is in private mode, you cant view this info.

That's not right. A whois database query against a DNS server will only show the details of the registration for a domain. It does not store the original website source. That would take up far too much space and would serve no purpose in relation to DNS.

No, not by WHOIS tools. By things like archive.org, maybe... but not by WHOIS.

You know, most people do state domain age as being the date it was registered. But for ranking, I think search engines view age as the day they first indexed it.
