Selling Forum Content (Premium)

Selling forum content is quite a profitable way of monetizing your forum, but the quality must be worth the money. I always recommend adding some eBooks for "premium" users, some private sections and maybe even some special tools. Remember that users will not pay $5/month just to access a shoutbox on a new forum, unless it is huge and has a very high traffic amount!

I used to be part of a internet marketing/money making forum about a year ago. The site had a lot of interesting features. They did many great things with their VIP(premium) users that got the site very popular.

VIP members had access to special ebooks, offers and tutorials not available to the public. The site also allowed other VIP members to post in the VIP section to help each other out. So the section kept growing with people sharing their secrets which could not be seen by anyone else.

The site also had a blog which wrote articles about IM and bought articles for users as well. They even made a deal that they would pay VIP members more for blogging which made more members join VIP.

Selling forum content can be a very profitable business if you know how to do it. I remember selling content some time ago and earning pretty decent sums.
