pre-built web sites

Hello,

Has anyone tried to promote a product where they were given a pre-built website? If so do you have any tips?

Just be advised that pre-built sites are usually cookie cutter sites so lots may have the same site. Plus usually you just get the site as-is and can't modify it.

If that's the case then both issues above can make it very hard (if not impossible) to get them to rank in the search engines.

Search engines are the best source of free traffic.
