Prague is home to the court that will decide .eu domain disputes
The launch of the .eu domain appears to have been a big success.
More than 1.3 million .eu domains have been registered according to Eurid, the non-profit agency that oversees the new net name.

I bought a few :D
Got some nice ones as well like

restaurant-reviews.eu
wedding-services.eu
stag-night.eu
uk-finance.eu

to name a few

Anyone else buy any?

You have been luckier than I have been OWG, I got a few but non of them as fantastically generic as yours :(

You are canadian Duke, even if you want to buy it they will not sell to you. You need to have an address in on of the EU countries :(

IT'd be very useful for companies who sell to an EU audience. But I'm only interested in the UK, so i didn't buy any.

2 that I bought with a view to resell are

online-debt-consolidation.eu
uk-debt-consolidation.eu

Oh and I bought web-design-wales.eu as well. but I will either set up a directory of Welsh web specialists, or sell it. I already own web-design-wales.com , so don't really need it.
Oh and I also got
wedding-guide.eu

There are a good few others as well.

You cyber squatter :) I am jealous, you are a more successful speculator than I am. I only succeeded with violinmakers.eu , I will be using it to setup a violin makers directory. I applied for lots of names to do with web mastering and web hosting no luck.
I think you were more successful because your domains are hyphenated, non of the domains I applied for were hyphenate.

Personally I prefer hyphenated domains as they are easier to read. I know many disagree though. As 90% of traffic will come from search, then using a hyphenated domain makes sense IMO. Naturally rich anchor text when people use your domain name alone. iw wedding-services.

I understand your point but I prefer un hyphenated domains, its makes life easier when the remaining 10% of your traffic are trying to type in your url or you trying to tell someone on the phone.

Which is why I would always recommend getting both. I have

world-rugby.net
and
worldrugby.net

belt and bracers as they say.

As most of these domains are going to be used purely online though for either self booked adverts or adsense/affilliate stuff. I really am not worried about the missing 10% :(

Oh and I also bought rugby-world-cup.eu which was a steal as I have already been offered £0,000 for it :D Not selling it though. I am building a rugby world cup portal. You see the RWC is really only ever going to be hosted in the UK, France, South Africa, Australia, new zealand. Although it might well go to Japan in 2011. So I am building a portal with hotels, pubs, clubs entertainment etc in and around the venues. During non RWC years it can serve as a general guide to the cities, then in RWC years it will come into its own.

I love rugby by the way, so would run it for nothing, but I will make money from it.

I actually have a UK member who's willing to use his address as a base for my .eu domains. ;)

I don't think it would hurt to have a European presence. That way it will be easier for my sites to take over the world.
