One Concept That Can Take Your Affiliate Business To A Whole New Level...

Joseph Ratliff

5 Star Success Guru
"XYZ Affiliate Network doesn't pay on time..."

"Mr./Mrs. Guru won't help me..."

"Man, I wish my vendors delivered as promised..."

I'm a BIG proponent of self-accountability.

This is an enormous hot button for me...I throw up in my mouth almost every time I hear the whining, moaning, groaning, and complaining about what goes wrong, who does it wrong...and why there aren't any shortcuts to make business so easy you can operate it from an armchair.

So it's time to deliver the big concept that will change all of that, so you can have and enjoy all the perks of an affiliate business (like I enjoy).

Ready?

You have to turn your affiliate business into a magnet.

No, not the kind you stick on the kitchen refrigerator, the kind that attracts the right people, resources, and energies to your business.

In simpler terms, you have to build an affiliate business that is bigger than yourself...you can't be the centerpiece of your business. Instead you have to separate yourself from your business...and you have to build a business that people enjoy interacting with...and want to support.

You are part of that plan, no doubt about it...but the business and the vision behind it MUST be worth supporting in the first place.

You build a business that the affiliate network takes notice of, and gives preferential treatment to...

...a business that a super-affiliate or successful business person will notice, and want to work with you sharing resources towards success for both of you (not just you, Mr. Greedy Affiliate)...

...a business that vendors (website designers, copywriters, etc...etc...) take notice of and pay extra special attention to...

But the hard part of all of this is...you have to build and create the vision that drives this type of business.

In your actions every day, make yourself an "easy to get along with" person (if you aren't already)...try to help other people when you can (like I do with content and Skype chats from time to time)...in essence...

Try to be what other whiny, moany, groany affiliates aren't...a magnet.

Even if you're not the "extreme" example of the affiliate I point to in this post...I'm sure you can think of several ways to improve starting now.

Think about it today.

I agree that affliate business will succeed with better payout systems.

Affiliates want:
- Much variety of different internet payment methods
- More frequent payouts
- Faster payouts
- Ability to take credit or upfront payments

Ummm, ok. But since you're an affiliate, build your business first, which involves the factors you can control, the "payment methods" are factors the vendor or network controls...so it's a little harder to gain traction for your business there.

There will always be set backs here and there. It is not the end of the world when your emails are not answered, Mr/Mrs Guru goes on summer vacation without prior notice or your payment is cancelled. In fact, don't count the money you see in your affiliate stats as yours until it is in your bank account.

I have to agree that whinning isn't helpful at all... it can only do the damange to your self-esteem and therefore to your business in general. Not getting leads yet? It has been 6 months and, according to this-and-that article you are supposed to get your first $100? Come on!!!! Nothing goes by the plan! So it will take another month, so what! Work hard and you will see the results.

john43,

Why not just focus on making 3 times more than you can spend in the given payout time, and then the payout dates and methods will not matter to you any more?

The payout times and methods are not the problem, I think you should set a goal to increase the amount of your payouts instead of worrying about things out of your control?

Focus on what you can control and you will be a happy camper.

Joseph Ratliff: You have made an awesome post.
