<strong>What's Hot? Find Hot Niches! </strong> One method of niche marketing is to find smaller niches or sub-niches that are not as competitive. That's the type of niche marketing I've covered alot so far, mainly to help newbies find easier ways to get started.

<strong>If you are more of a pro, the most DYNAMIC way to profit from niche marketing is to discover hot new products, hot new interests, hot new problems that need to be solved.
<em>Target the niche early and dominate it!</em></strong> So.... here's what I have for you today.<center><font color="#006699"size="3" face="Arial"><strong>
Linda's HOT LIST :: of HOT LINKS :: for finding HOT NICHES!</strong></font>
I'm sparing you the commentary to give you mainly the links.

You can discover a goldmine of niche finding tips, tools and ideas in the <strong><a target="_new" href="http://affiliate-blogs.5staraffiliateprograms.com/category/niche-marketing/">5 Star Niche Marketing Blog</a></strong>. There is even more in-depth niche research info HERE at the 5 Star <strong><a target="_new" href="http://affiliate-marketing-forums.5staraffiliateprograms.com/niche-marketing/">Niche FORUM</a></strong>, due to the comments, other ideas and tools members are adding every week. It can be tedious for you to dig through it all to find the tool you want and to read all the long winded copy I write, attempting to explain how to best use all the tools.

So I'm compiling a list of all the niche tools. This 1st section contains tools for finding hot NEW niche ideas, things that are growing in popularity. I'll add some of my other niche tools later, categorize the list and build it as I can. So bookmark it and check back often.

VERY COOL and FREE

Above I have covered some of the best tools for finding hot trends and niche brainstorming including Google Hot Trends, eBay Pulse, Yahoo Buzz and others.

Rand over at SEOmoz has created a VERY cool resource that searches and displays the most popular searches, key phrases and products from all the above resources and others, to help you discover rising trends and buzz worthy new niches all in one place.

<strong><a href="http://www.seomoz.org/popular-searches">SEOmoz Popular Searches</a></strong> is free to use right now, with no sign-up or nag screens. It even lets you download the list as a CSV file to save and use later or massage with your favorite key word tool.

<a target="_new" href="http://www.seomoz.org/blog/trendspotting-with-popular-search-sources-a-new-tool-from-seomoz-to-help">Rand's blog</a> has more info about the tool and what it can do. Thanks Rand, I'm sure lots of our affiliates will want to add this to their niche-finding toolbox.

One of our members, Shane, posted another great list of resources I wanted to cross link with this one.

<a href="http://affiliate-marketing-forums.5staraffiliateprograms.com/niche-marketing/7654-10-great-niche-market-research-resources-tools.html">10 great niche market research resources and tools</a>

Thanks Shaners! :)

I know many of you have used <a href="http://google.com/trends">Google Trends</a> to determine how popular certain keywords are or to compare search trends between key phrases. Well Google just released a PRETTY cool tool affiliates may find useful.

<strong><a href="http://checkout.google.com/trends">Google Checkout Trends</a> shows sales/revenue volume for actual products that were sold through Google Checkout.</strong> So instead of only knowing what products were searched for you can see what products were actually bought and view product comparison data or seasonal buying trends.

Here are the results for <strong><a href="http://checkout.google.com/trends/results?q=%20wii,%20xbox,%20playstation">wii VS xbox VS playstation</a></strong>. Take it for a spin and see what you think. The data can't be 100% accurate, as it's only Checkout merchants - but it could be representative and give affiliates some insights. Here's an overview from the Google Checkout blog.
<blockquote><strong><a href="http://googlecheckout.blogspot.com/2008/01/new-on-hot-list-google-checkout-trends.html">New on the hot list: Google Checkout Trends</a></strong>
"Google Checkout Trends aggregates the sales data of Google Checkout merchants and charts it in a matter of seconds. (Of course, all the data is anonymized first.) So if you're interested in how sales of Batman or Spider Man paraphernalia compare, or are wondering just how popular Ugg boots are these days, visit Checkout Trends for a glimpse into online shopping. Go ahead and try it out -- and get creative with the searches. You may be surprised at what you find."</blockquote>

Another good one. Don't say nah Yahoo Groups until you see the way he explains it. His strategy for YG could be used for lots of the other niche resources on this list too.

WHOO HOO HOT TOOL ALERT!!!

Seomoz Popular Searches

This is an aggregation of popular search queries gathered from various sources across the web including most of the tools listed in the 1st post in this thread.

"Our latest, completely free tool highlights popular searches from all of these sources, making your brainstorming tasks even easier. There's obviously a lot of uses for this data, so we've also made it available via CSV and given you the ability to go back in time (though right now it only goes back a couple weeks)."

Hot, hot, hot! If you can't find a hot niche here, then one does not exist! :p

Thanks alot Linda. I am new to affiliate marketing and the tools you have mentioned here will be very useful to me.
Kumar.

This thread is building into a wealth of good resources.
As you know many keyword tools can also be used for niche research.

Really a TON of good ones. Almost all are free.

Google Trends

After getting the keywords, I use google trend to analysis the season traffic, geographic traffic and compare with my existing keyword traffic to estimate the real traffic in google search. Very helpful new tool to validate the real traffic in google search.

Thanks
