Large Click difference between traffic platform and affiliate network

Hi

I am running some traffic around 10k click received on banner. Traffic network shows 10k my tracking software shows around 10k also.

However, the affiliate network only confirms like 5512 clicks thats link nearly half of the clicks not coming through.

As you can image this would affect my bottom line quite a bit.

Has anyone else come across this before?
Is this normal?

Is it just a case of people not getting through the redirects and deciding to close the page fast possibly.

There can be many reasons. One of them surely is click data loss which is very common in this industry. Another probable reason can be that some affiliate network only counts unqiue click and remove the duplicate click. And the last probable reason can be the one you said "s it just a case of people not getting through the redirects and deciding to close the page fast possibly. "
