IFrame (Why Affiliate Networks Hate Them)?

What is the reason why advertisers don't like web publishers using IFrams for promotions?

Hi jpromo,

iFrames are against the TOS in most programs and networks. Merchants want affiliates to create unique content and add value, not just steal the work the merchant has done on their own site. Plus iFrames can be used to in ways they shouldn't to set cookies and forced clicks, which isn't ethical and can steal sales from other affiliates.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for the answer; I've been doing online marketing for a long time and just started using IFrame for the purpose of tracking ads and protecting my publisher/affiliate links, not to steal advertisers content etc.... Did not know it was such a negative issue in the industry. This is the first publisher/affiliate forum I joined in the 5 years I've been doing this business. I guess there are unethical people in every industry that will spend most of there time trying to cheat the system instead of trying to send legitimate traffic.

Yes unfortunately there is LOTS of affiliate fraud out there and affiliates that use black hat tactics.
As usual, the bad guys ruin it for the good guys like you that are just trying to make an honest living.
