There are more options than a blog but lots of people start that way. If you can offer great content, it can be paired with affiliate offers of some kind, if done right.

I'd recommend that you educate yourself a bit before jumping into the deep end of the pool, so you can make the best decision about which way you want to go.

I always like to recommend that newbies start with these threads:

WIKI (START HERE) (lingo/terminology, definitions, tools you need, etc.)
Newbie Helpdesk (newbie questions and concerns)

Anytime you have a question or need help, just start a thread to let us know.

You will need some sort of web presence to qualify --even if you are buying ads and redirecting them to offers of some sort.

Good advice here, start with a small blog site with all the legal stuff in place, privacy policy, gdpr, contact info ect.

why not move as per your budget, blogging is a good idea, and so as buying ads directly via media buy, depends on how much you initially want to invest.

There are countless ways to promote affiliate offers.

I suggest that you start in the same way any other business should start:

IDEA -> RESEARCH -> ACTION PLAN

You have already had the idea (to do affiliate marketing). Now, start your research and learn more about the business models and strategies that others have been using successfully to execute your idea (when your idea isn't something new that no one else has done before, the most fundamental thing to start a business is to understand what others who have had the same idea are doing successfully).

After that, put together and action plan and get the show on the road!

Just think what are you good in, I mean if you are good in writing and have something great to tell, then sure, you can start from your own blog. Or you can start promoting an offer, but firstly you need to learn and identify your niche and traffic.

Start by looking for problems

The reason it's so hard to piggyback off successful people/campaigns is that they've solved the problem - and very often newbies aren't adding any further value to the solution (not saying it can't be done if you're smart)

Find unsolved problems that are popular, with high keyword volume

Identify solutions that actually work, and can be monetized later on

Help people to solve problems and you will get traffic

Monetize that traffic in the right way at the right time and you will have an affiliate business

You're looking for questions and question searches

• "where can I order............?"
• "who sells............?"
• "what's the best............for............?"
• "when is the............available?"
• "how to cure............?"
• "what's the best way to............?"
• "order a............online"

The first place I would start is Google Trends and search things you have knowledge or/and experience
