I started a new paid blog directory a few months ago and it almost didn't get any submission.

How to promote a blog directory? I believe it is different to a general directory.

For a directory to be useful it needs to have content.

If you want to build content you should probably make it free at first then think about charging later, when having an entry is actually worth something.
