I still like Homesite. Even from the day it was still Allaire Homesite, then bought by Macromedia, then bought by Adobe. Today it is still my primary HTML/CSS/PHP editor of choice. Although I still have Dreamweaver when I need it, by simply hitting Ctrl-D in Homesite.

Since homesite is not free, you can always check Evrsoft 1stPage.

I use evrsoft first page as well. Always open in normal mode. Pretty good free tool for coding without to much b/s.

I use to use only notepad but have now converted to evrsoft first page. If you try it you will never use notepad again. Breaks everything down very nicely.

I second this, another good but non free text editor i've used on windows is textpad

yeah that notepad ++ looks good so will try using that for a week or two to see if i like it
