I’ve been testing Facebook ads that lead directly to my Instagram profile, and something’s really off.
I’ve already done 6 different tests and even switched the Facebook ad account once — but the result stays the same: zero engagement.
Facebook shows great numbers — CPR around $0.01 and about 800 reported link clicks on the last test — yet on Instagram there’s almost no activity: roughly 50 profile visits, no story views, no new followers, no interactions at all.
The Instagram profile itself is solid — aged, active, well-set-up, with posts, highlights, stories, and consistent content.
I’m sending traffic directly to the Instagram profile link, no cloaking or intermediate pages.
At this point I’m not sure what’s wrong — maybe Facebook is overreporting clicks, or the Instagram link isn’t opening properly for some users (e.g. those without the app).
Has anyone faced something like this before?
Any suggestions on how to track where the traffic drops off or confirm whether people are actually landing on the profile?
